[Recite the Shema] When you wake up and when you lie down (Devarim 6:7).
Rashi comments , "The Torah here is referring to the time when one lies down to sleep and the time one awakes".

How great is the power of reciting the Shema in its proper time? We can realize how great it is from the verse regarding Goliath the Philistine in Shmuel 1, chapter 17, The Philistine attacked in the morning and the evening. The Gemara (Sotah 42b) comments that he did this in order to stop K'lal Yisroel from reciting the Shema in the morning and evening. He thought he would have an advantage then and be able to defeat the Jews. It is our great sadness that we don't realize what this Philistine knew and we delay the recitation of the Shema. We are not careful enough regarding this very significant Mitzvah. Some people say the Shema too early as well, especailly in the winter when some say it even before dawn. They miss out completely on the fulfillment of this positive commandment.

Let me please enter and see the good land (Devarim 3:25).
If Moshe was allowed to enter, would he not have been able to see the land?

One needs to constantly beseech Hashem to show him the good in all things. Moshe Rabbeinu was asking for this. Let me only see the good things of Eretz Yisroel

And you who are connected to Hashem, your Al-Mighty you all live today (Devarim 4:4)
The holy Seforim explain that the 248 words of the recitation of the Shema provide life to the 248 limbs of a man.

However, the three sections of Krias Shema only contain 247 words. The word emes, truth, that is said together with Hashem, your Al-Mighty completes the count to 248.

This is being alluded to here. And you who are connected to Hashem, your Al-Mighty - if you connect the word emes, which contains the same letters as the plural form of you: Aleph, Mem, Tuv, to Hashem your Al-Mighty and say it all together at the end of Krias Shema, then you all live today. They will bestow the power of life to the 248 limbs.
